The Barossa is located in South Australia, approximately 70 kms (1.25 hours drive) north-east of Adelaide the states capital city. The region is geographically compact (approximately 40 km by 30 km) and it is only a short drive between towns.
First settled more than 165 years ago by European immigrants, the Barossa is now home to a thriving wine community with world renowned brands, boutique wine companies and artisan winemakers. It is truly an old world wine region in the new world.
The autumn months (March - May), especially March and April, bring mild, but sunny, days with chilly evenings. The autumn leaves on the vines are a sight to behold. Wear light clothing during the day but bring some warm clothes for the evening.
